An Adipec panel will discuss strategic integration of industrial parks and petrochemical derivatives with a smart ecosystem and how to establish new manufacturing hubs that will add value to every barrel produced.

3M’s Laurence Verdier, Vice President, Personal Safety Division for 3M Europe Middle East & Africa, will be part the panel discussion on Tuesday on “Building smart manufacturing hubs of the future” which is being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Verdier will be joined by Mohamed Al Qasim, Director of Technology Development and Adoption, Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, UAE, Karl W Feilder, CEO, Neutral Fuels and Astrid Poupart – Lafarge, President, Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Segment - Industrial Automation Business, Schneider Electric.

“Adipec has created a platform for the public and private sectors to spearhead the industry into the future through its Smart Manufacturing Conference. These types of manufacturing hubs are fundamental in bringing local & international companies. I am honored to represent 3M and share how our company has been actively taking part in advancing and adding value to the manufacturing of the future both globally and regionally,” said Verdier.

Adipec bridges the gap between energy, manufacturing and high-tech sectors to accelerate economic development and diversification.
“The addition of the Adipec Smart Manufacturing supported by the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology is essential in creating the manufacturing of the future. I am pleased to see how the UAE is leading the way on these strategic conversations, with which 3M is aligned. Last week, 3M, world leaders and our global peers gathered at the Conference of the Parties (COP26) where we highlighted unique challenges and opportunities manufacturers are facing. Adipec offers yet another opportunity to bring forward some of the progress we are making from a manufacturing perspective,” Laszlo Svinger, Vice President and Managing Director at 3M Middle East & Africa commented.

Most recently, 3M & the United Nations Climate Change (UNFCCC) in a strategic partnership also co-hosted a panel discussion around managing manufacturing challenges in pursuit of climate action at COP26.
