Work is underway to set up 11 hotels in the private sector to keep pace with the tourism development in the wilayats of Al Buraimi, Mahdha and Al Suninnah in Oman, it has been revealed.
Zahran bin Mohammed al-Nabhani, director of tourism department in the Governorate of Al Buraimi, said that the private sector is currently implementing five hotels of different stars, in addition to the Al Salam resort; five normal to deluxe hotel apartments projects; and a luxury tourism camp, according to an Oman News Agency report.
The number of licensed hotel facilities in the governorate at present stood at 28. The hotels will contribute to covering the growing demand by tourists from inside and outside the sultanate, the report said.
The Governorate of Al Buraimi has many natural tourist attractions such as spas, wadis, the aflaj ancient irrigation system and deserts.
