"Give Us Candies" song celebrates Haq Al Lailah
Dubai, August 13th, 2008: In line with its objectives of supporting local Emirati talent and initiatives, Etisalat today announced its support for an animated video featuring an Arabic song titled "Give us Candies" on the occasion of Haq Al Lailah. The video will feature the character of Dana who is a smart, creative, and caring little girl with a cheeky, charming and curious cat called Click and her new friends.
The animated characters of Dana and Click became very popular when they are featuring for the first time in a song titled "My Sweet Homeland" which was aired on the occasion of National Day last year. The new video will be broadcasted on several UAE TV stations on the occasion of the Haq Al Lailah for viewers to enjoy. The animation video featuring the song has been produced and co-directed by Hanan Ghaith, an employee of E-Vision, which is the cable TV arm of Etisalat. The post production of the song was done in the E-Vision studios.
According to Ahmed Bin Ali, VP, Corporate Communications, Etisalat, "Etisalat has always taken the initiative to recognize and support local Emirati talent in various fields in the UAE. Hanan's initiative and talent is an inspiration to other talented young Emiratis and we are very happy to support her in all her endeavours."
According to Hanan, "We are bringing some appealing and cute characters for the first time in the form of character called Reem, the twins Humaidan & Obaidan, The grandfather Seef, the camel Za'faran and the pigeon Wed Wed . We were very happy to have the involvement of school kids across the UAE who participated in a research to find out which new characters would join Dana and Click. The song will also be more engaging and we would like to extend the popularity of Dana and Click to many more festive occasions in the UAE."
The song has been sung by Ahmed Al Baloshi with the melody composed by Ahmed Al Baloshi and the famous singer Hussam Kamel. The directors of the animation project were Hanan and Alex Olea with the animation being done by talented Chilean artists in collaboration with an online animation club in the UAE called "Lets Animate".
