SHARJAH: H. H. Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah and President of American University of Sharjah (AUS) attended the AUS Annual Alumni Reunion Dinner today at the university's Main Plaza.
In a speech at the gathering, Sheikh Sultan, welcomed back more than 2700 AUS graduates who came from different countries. Sheikh Sultan also thanked them for finding the time to travel back to their alma mater to attend the event which is aimed at bringing back a large number of alumni to campus in order to celebrate alumni achievements as well as to reconnect with old friends. A total of 8050 alumni is not a small number for AUS, according to Sheikh Sultan who noted that the varsity seeks high quality graduates. The annual gathering which is organized by the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs revitalizes the alumni's connection with the University and with their fellow alumni. The event involves the showcasing of the many significant accomplishments of the alumni. At the ceremony, twelve of the AUS alumni were announced winners of masters scholarships offered by AUS.
