According to the report, Saudia operated a total of 12,354 flights during the period, of which 10,981 were on-time while 774 were delayed by half an hour.
Sulaiman Amer, assistant director of operations monitoring center at Saudia, said that the FlightStats' report during last year showed that Saudia ranked 6th among other airlines worldwide in the on-time performance standard. "The airline maintained 90.43 percent in on-time performance when it operated 178,247 scheduled services in 2013," he said.
According to Amer, the month of June (Shaaban 3 -Ramadan 4) represented the peak season for the airline as it coincided with the summer vacation and peak Umrah season when large numbers of passengers used Saudia in the domestic and international sectors. "Most often, Saudia operates 500 domestic and international flight services on a daily basis with the on-time performance percentage exceeds 90 percent most often," he claimed.
