AMMAN -- The Women and Children's Hospital in Mafraq, 80km northeast of the capital, is now double the size it was a year ago and is working at almost full capacity to serve the needs of new mothers and their infants, a USAID statement said on Wednesday.
The hospital is one of 14 that USAID has renovated throughout Jordan over the past three years at a cost of $35 million, the statement quoted the agency's director, Beth Paige, as saying.
The hospitals treat Jordanians and Syrian refugees, the statement said.
Around 10,000 mothers use the facility annually
