Dubai: Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai announced the reception of a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award earlier this week.

As part of the Dubai-based Jumeirah Group, Jumeirah Himalayas located in Pudong, Shanghai is the first hotel of the group established in Asia Pacific.

TripAdvisor is a travel website providing information and reviews regarding travel related content, including hotel and travel destination reviews. The website ranks Jumeirah Himalayas number 12 out of 3471 hotels in Shanghai, said the hotel in a statement on Monday.

When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm that takes into account reviews ratings, said the Shanghai hotel. Businesses must maintain an overall TripAdvisor rating of at least four out of five in order to secure a higher rank, with the volume and date of reviews playing a significant role in the rating, it added.

John Roberts, General Manager, Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai, said: “Securing the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence is a true source of pride for the entire team at Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai and we’d like to thank all of our guests who have taken the time to complete a review on TripAdvisor. With the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence based on customer reviews, the accolade is a strong vote of confidence in our business and reflects our continued commitment to excellence.”

Featuring 401 contemporary Chinese styled guestrooms and suites, four eclectic restaurants and lounges, plus a 24-hour fitness centre and indoor swimming pool, Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai also offers extensive meetings, conference and event facilities, including two grand ballrooms and a 5,000sqm rooftop Infinity Garden.
