Tehran - Iranian nationals seeking to visit Nakhichevan receive 15-day visa at Jolfa and Poldasht borders from Saturday, September 20, according to Iranian consul-general in Azerbaijan Mohsen Molaei.
Molaei said that visa for Iranian nationals is available in line with the agreement reached during the 9th Iran- Azerbaijan Joint Commission and following receipt of a letter to that effect from the Azeri Foreign Ministry.
He said the visa is available only for visiting Nakhichevan and that visa applicants for Baku or other cities must apply with the Azeri consulates in Iran beforehand.
The Iranians should pay 10 euros at the border for receiving visa, Molaei said.
Molaei expressed hope that the decision would positively influence trade and tourism between the Iranian and Azeri neighboring provinces.
He said that Iran has unilaterally cancelled visa for Azeri nationals in order to help facilitate visits between the two countries.
