Egypt has signed Wednesday two grants totalling $850,000 with the African Development Bank (AfDB) in favour of the Egyptian agriculture and sanitation sectors.

On the sidelines of the AfDB's Annual Meetings in Lusaka, Zambia, Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr has signed the grant agreements.

The first grant is worth $560 million provided by the AfDB's Technical Assistance Fund for Middle Income Countries (MIC TAF) to finance Egypt's national sanitation programme, minister Nasr stated.

For the second grant, the Egyptian minister said it is valued at $290,000 secured by AfDB's Korea Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) to support the provision of comprehensive sanitation services in some rural areas in the Upper Egypt region.
