· Andrew Savvas appointed new Brand Director for Volkswagen Middle East, joining the automotive manufacturer's regional headquarters in the United Arab Emirates

Dubai, UAE - Volkswagen has appointed a new Brand Director to lead its Middle East operations at the automotive manufacturer's regional headquarters in the United Arab Emirates. Mr Andrew Savvas joins Volkswagen Middle East from Australia where he led the brand as Volkswagen General Manager Sales and Network Development.

With over 16 years' experience in the automotive industry, a proven track record of success across multiple business disciplines, and a strategic focus on customer centricity, Savvas joins the Middle East team to steer the Volkswagen brand following Mr Thomas Milz, out-going Managing Director for Volkswagen Middle East return to Wolfsburg.

Commenting on his new appointment, Andrew Savvas, Brand Director Volkswagen Middle East, said, "The Middle East region offers new challenges and opportunities. There is a strong sense of purpose, energy and positivity amongst business leaders and consumers alike. The industry however, is going through a challenging shift. Whilst we cannot change the market, we can control how we treat our customers, who are our utmost priority."

Savvas continued, "Mr Milz leaves Volkswagen's Middle East operations in a strong position, with a solid retail network across nine countries. My focus will be on our customers, and strengthening our world-class customer experience delivering service excellence, a strong and diverse model range, affordable yet innovative technology and total transparency and care in the treatment of our customers."
