Unilever, one of the biggest global brands, has opened its newest €22 million ($24 million) personal care manufacturing facility in Egypt’s Sixth of October City.

Paul Polman, chief executive of Unilever, said the new factory reflects the company’s commitment to expand its innovative personal care products business across Egypt through pumping new investments in several sectors.

It will introduce the state-of-the-art technology, aiming to reduce power consumption, reserve water resources, and prevent carbon emissions by 2030, Polman added.

The new facility is the biggest of its kind for personal care and detergent manufacturing in the Middle East region in terms of the targeted volume of production, Polman said.
