AMMAN — Water Minister Hazem Nasser on Tuesday inaugurated the second phase of the project to improve water supply in Amman, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. US Ambassador to Jordan Alice G. Wells attended the ceremony.

The project, worth JD4.6 million, aims to improve the water supply to all areas of the capital. Some 85 per cent of the project was funded by USAID and 15 per cent by the Jordan Water Company (Miyahuna).

Wells commended Jordan for hosting a large number of Syrian refugees, even though the Kingdom is one of the poorest countries in terms of water resources.
