Dubai, UAE; October 25, 2016

Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), the largest Islamic bank in the UAE, has won the distinguished accolade of “Best Employer Brand on LinkedIn” award at the LinkedIn MENA Talent Awards 2016. LinkedIn also recognized Dr. Adnan Chilwan, Group CEO of DIB, with the most prestigious award of the ceremony as the “Most Social Executive in the Private Sector”. The elaborate event was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Dubai, and was attended by senior executives from across the MENA region.

Commenting on the awards, Dr. Chilwan, an avid LinkedIn blogger himself, said, “We are delighted to win these awards, which only reaffirms that we are heading in the right direction- Towards greater connectivity with our stakeholders. LinkedIn is a social platform that is an ideal fit for our strategic agenda as progressive leaders in Islamic Banking. Our ever growing presence on LinkedIn is a testament to the rising support for our proposition and we only see this relationship developing strongly in the future.”

For the most “Most Social Executive in the Private Sector Award,” LinkedIn judged a host of cross-industry prominent personalities in the MENA region based on their dynamic social presence. Dr. Chilwan’s growing popularity and reach on the platform with aspiring professionals is significant of his passionate LinkedIn publishing, focusing on motivating individuals to explore hidden potential within.

LinkedIn’s “Best Employer Brand” category assessed and analysed a company’s ability to attract, recruit and empower professional talent through devoted LinkedIn judges.

Cornel Fourie, Head of Human Resources at DIB added: “These achievements highlight the fact that we at Dubai Islamic Bank are effectively nurturing and training the right talent to enter the UAE workforce as future leaders in the field of Islamic Finance. Our commitment to hiring and retaining talent is also fundamental to the success of our ‘Customer First’ program, a key element in our strategy to sustainably grow the business and further our position as a world-class service provider.”

These achievements build on the recognition that Dubai Islamic Bank received at last year’s LinkedIn MENA Talent Awards, where DIB ranked 16th amongst the MENA’s top 20 “Most In-Demand Employers 2015” making it one of the top 10 local brands on the list.

Held for the second consecutive year, more than 200 executives from the MENA region attended the LinkedIn MENA Talent Awards gala dinner, where H.E. Shamma Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and the youngest minister in the world, shared the vision of the ministry and their plans for young professionals in the UAE.
