Tunisia's "Banque de l'Habitat" has applied for the acquisition of 349,700 shares in the capital of the "Housing Bank" of Côte d'Ivoire (BHCI), equivalent to 51.6% its capital ", the BH announced in a press release published on the website of the Tunis Stock Exchange.

BH said its application has been accepted by the Ivorian privatisation committee, adding that the amount of this transaction will reach 1.3 billion CFA francs or the equivalent of 4.6 million dinars.

The Tunisian bank, likewise, noted that this operation was launched following the approval of its Board of Directors at its meeting of August 30, 2016.

Once completed, this acquisition will help to strengthen the presence of BH in Africa; this presence dates from 2007, through its two subsidiaries in Burkina Faso and Congo Brazzaville.

The purchase could be announced officially by the directors of BH on the sidelines of the financial statement to be presented on Monday, September 19.
