KHOBAR, Saudi Arabia, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Saudi General Grains Organisation (SAGO) will take over barley imports from the finance ministry starting next week, its director-general said.

SAGO, which was previously called the General Silos and Flour Mills Organisation (GSFMO), handles the storage and operation of silos and production at mills.

SAGO will handle barley imports and more details will be available later this week, SAGO Director-general Ahmed al-Fares said on his twitter account .

Saudi Arabia is one of the world's largest importers of barley.
