Tehran - Deputy Head of Iranian Space Agency Jafar Roshanian said on Monday that Mesbah satellite jointly developed by Iran and Italy is ready to be launched.

Mesbaha satellite, which is ready to be put in the orbit, weighs 75 kilograms, Roshanian said.

He said that Nahid satellite is also under final stages of its construction.

Deupty Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Mohsen Bahrami said earlier this month that Iran has planned to launch two telecommunications and remote-sensing satellites by the yearend.

He said that Iran plans to put into orbit at least one satellite this year and if launched successfully, it will consider launching a second satellite by the end of the year.
