SABIC establishes 'SABIC Capital Ltd.' in the Netherlands

The Saudi Basic Industries CorporationSaudi Basic Industries CorporationLoading... (SABICSABICLoading...) has announced the establishment of a new wholly-owned company with a paid up capital of Euro 18,000. The company, SABIC Capital Ltd., is based in the Netherlands.

Mohamed Al-Mady, SABICSABICLoading... Vice Chairman and CEO, said the new company will be primarily responsible for the financing and tax operations of SABICSABICLoading...'s investments in Europe and USA following the acquisition of DSM Petrochemicals, GE Plastics, and other acquisitions.

Headquartered in Riyadh, SABICSABICLoading... was founded in 1976 when the Saudi Arabian Government decided to use the hydrocarbon gases associated with its oil production as the principal feedstock for production of chemicals, polymers and fertilizers. The Saudi Arabian Government owns 70 percent of SABICSABICLoading... shares with the remaining 30 percent held by private investors in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
