MUSCAT -- Mazoon National Telecommuni-cations Company LLC (Mazoon Mobile) has signed an agreement with ZTE (Zhong Xing Telecommuni-cation Equipment Company Limited) of China, for the supply of its intelligent network platform. Mazoon Mobile, which is targeting a major role for itself in the Sultanate's liberalised mobile telecom sector, has entered into a partnership with ZTE.
Commenting on the agreement, Jamil Ali Sultan, Chairman of Mazoon Mobile, said, "There will be new players in the Oman telecom market, but we are proud to be associated with ZTE, which enjoys an international reputation for excellence in providing state-of-the-art technological supremacy in the telecom field."
Mohammed al Hashili, CEO of Mazoon Mobile, added: "Mazoon Mobile aims to be a model mobile reseller in the Middle East by addressing customer lifestyle needs and delivering value with unique experience to the Omani mobile market, as well as to build an organisation with the right talent and opportunities for growth. We are excited about our partnership with ZTE which is a major milestone in our preparations towards commercial launch in the near future."
Bian Lei, Chief Representative for ZTE in Oman, said: "The company is very excited to win this project in Oman, which has a very high potential for growth in the telecom market despite the presence of several players." ZTE, with its vast international expertise, is well-geared to meet Mazoon Mobile's aspirations, he added.
